Situation: Leadership

Situation: Leadership introduces your managers, leadership, or anyone who leads a team to the work of Ken Blanchard and Paul Hersey on the theory of Situational Leadership.

This experiential earning activity provides your growing number of project, team, and executive leaders a safe environment to practice the key principals of situational leadership,  creating a learning laboratory where individuals can develop Situational Leadership skills.

This one to three hour program allows participants a chance to “try on” various leadership styles and how they align with each individual. Participants gain an understanding of the effect of various leadership styles and the variety of appropriate problem solving alternatives available to managers and others in leadership positions.

• The session starts with a Situational Leadership summary, explaining the theory and practice of this management technique.

• Each participant learns about a specific leadership style and how to lead a team through challenges using the attributes of the style.

• Teams solve a number of challenges together while rotating leaders throughout the process.  While not disclosing their style, each leader attempts to lead using their assigned leadership attributes.

• Using a series of tools and carefully timed debriefing moments, teams hypothesize which leadership style they are experiencing and how this style can be used in their workplace.

• Leaders and teams gain important knowledge around leadership styles and gain a new perspective on how styles work in each situation from the leader and team perspective.
